In this article, we shall talk about getting Android notifications on a PC with Windows 10. Basically, Windows 10 has an official digital assistant from Microsoft, called Cortona and she will help us in getting Android notifications on Windows. The official Android version of Cortana released by Microsoft is available for download on Play Store. Firstly you need to install Cortona on your Android phone, so you need a phone that is compatible with Cortona. And you need a Microsoft account.

How To Get Android Notifications on Windows 10:

  • First download Cortona from Play Store.

  • Once you have installed, Cortona will then ask you to connect to your Microsoft account. Sign in with the account that has been connected to your PC.
  • Once you have successfully signed in, you will see a welcome screen.
  • Now click on the top right of the interface of the app.
  • You will see a menu displayed with numerous options.
  • From the list, select ‘Settings‘.
  • Next select ‘Sync Notifications‘ from the available list of options.
  • The app will then ask you permission for access to missed calls, contacts and SMS. Grant it permission.
  • Now in the ‘Sync Notifications page‘, you will see a list of options, including ‘Missed Call Notifications‘, ‘Low Battery Notifications‘, and ‘App Notification Sync‘. Depending on which notifications you want to receive on your PC, you can select these options.
  • If you want to be notified about your phone’s missed calls on your laptop then select the option ‘Missed Call Notifications‘. Similarly, if you want to be notified when your phone’s battery drops below a certain level, on your PC, then select the ‘Low Battery Notifications‘.

App Notification Sync:

  • Now if you want to be notified about the messages you receive on apps, then select the ‘App Notification Sync‘. What this does is that whenever you receive a message on an app like Whatsapp or Messenger on your phone, then you will get the notification on your PC. For this, you need to provide Notification Access to Cortana. The app will direct you to Notification Access page. Toggle the button for Cortana to give it access to your app’s notifications.
  • You will be directed back to Cortana’s interface and here you can choose which apps you want to sync by moving the toggle button for that respective app. The apps you choose, their notifications will appear on your PC.
