As compared to their predecessors, Galaxy S7 and the Edge variant have minor changes. These latest smartphones comes with new and improved camera setup as well as an expandable storage, also Galaxy S7 Edge brings a bigger screen with the same quadHD resolution. The more amazing feature is enhanced battery life of both variants as compared to the previous devices.
You may still get some bloatware, although TouchwizUI has been streamlined to a great extent in the Galaxy S7 models. So if you’d like to get rid of bloatware, ads, simple backup, custom ROMs, installing third-party apps and restore applications etc then you’ll need to get root access over Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. Follow the given step by step guide to enjoy the benefits of rooted device. In this guide we’ll use Chainfire’s Auto-Root method to root Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This is the most easy and simple way to root an Android phone in a few minutes.
Note:
This guide containing the CF-Auto-Root files are working with Galaxy S7 G930F and S7 Edge G935F devices. Do not try this guide to root any other device or incorrect variant. Verify the model number of your device first.

Before Getting Started:
- Make a proper backup of all your existing data like SMS, MMS, Videos, Contacts and Call Logs etc before proceeding to the rooting guide.
- Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on windows-based PC.
- The battery level of your device should at least about 70%.
Required Files:
- Download CF-Auto-Root For Galaxy S7 SM-G930F
- Download CF-Auto-Root For Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F
- Download Odin flashing Tool
Steps To Root Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge using CF-Auto Root:
Step No 1:- First, download appropriate CF-Auto-Root.zip file from the above link on the desktop of your PC for your S7 variant.
Step No 2:- Unzip the .zip file on your PC.
Step No 3:- Next, run Odin3 v3.10.6.exe as an Administrator.
Step No 4:- Transfer the extracted files to your device and Enable OEM unlock on your device.
Note: To Enable OEM unlock, navigate to Settings application > Developer Options > OEM Unlock.
Step No 5:- Now, boot your S7 variant into Download Mode, to do so, first turn off your device and turn it ON by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time for few seconds. A warning message will be appeared on your device saying that you are about to enter download mode. Then press Volume up to confirm the warning and the device will boot into Download mode.
Step No 6:- Plug the Galaxy S7 with the PC using its USB data cable. An Added message will be displayed on Odin after connecting your device to PC.
Step No 7:- In Odin flashing tool press AP button, locate the firmware file and goto the folder where you have already placed the extracted files. Select the CF-Auto-Root-herolte-heroltexx-smg930f.tar.md5 file, then press OK button.
Step No 8:- Finally, press Start button and the process will begin. This process will take some time to be successfully completed. The device will be rebooted after the installation is finished.
