Manually Update Nexus 7 LTE to KitKat 4.4.3 [KTU84L]

Today we’ll tell you about how to update Nexus 7 LTE to KitKat 4.4.3 (KTU84L) manually. Google’s flagship Nexus 7 is the most successful tablet innovation having Adreno 320 graphic unit, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and a 7 inches high-res gorilla glass display.

Here you’ll find 2 OTA files, one for the normal users and the other one for the Verizon SIM users. So choose your required file.

Updating Nexus 7 LTE to KitKat 4.4.3 Manually

Warning:

Android XDA will not be held responsible for lose/damage to your device before or after the updating process. Proceed at your own risk as updating the firmware manually may harm your device.

Before Getting Started:

  • Make a proper backup of your Storage, SMS, Call Logs, Contacts etc
  • Download & Install USB Drivers
  • Enable USB debugging.
  • Install Android SDK on your Nexus 7
  • Your device has Stock 4.4.2 build installed and un-rooted.
  • Your device’s battery should be charged at least about 80% before starting the updating process.

Steps to Update Nexus 7 LTE to KitKat 4.4.3

Step No 1:- Download the OTA update packages for normal and Verizon users:

For normal users: cac1a204d3770a20fdce28f6ed3418fdd36abd5d.signed-razorg-KTU84L-from-KOT49H.cac1a204.zip

For Verizon SIM users: f0c2187ff1dba772cff3fa7f99f0e6bd38ecb62b.signed-razorg-KTU84L-from-KVT49L.f0c2187f.zip

Step No 2:- Now open the folder where you’ve downloaded the OTA zip file. Now launch the command prompt on your PC by going to START-> RUN -> Type cmd and hit enter.

Step No 3:- Boot your Nexus 7 into Recovery Mode and type the following command:

adb reboot recovery

Note: Do not close the command prompt window.

Step No 4:- Your Nexus 7 will be rebooted and a black warning screen will be displayed with the Android bot in the middle on the screen. Now press the Volume Up + Power buttons together for a few seconds until your screen start flashing. Now release the keys. It may take a while if you are doing this for the first time.

Step No 5:- Your device will now enter the Stock Recovery Mode, with Android system recovery <3e> text on the top of the screen.

Step No 6:- Here’s the time to connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable.

Step No 7:- Scroll using the Volume buttons and highlight apply update from ADB and select it using the Power button.

Step No 8:- Now you’ll need to type this command if you have downloaded the normal OTA zip file:

adb sideload cac1a204d3770a20fdce28f6ed3418fdd36abd5d.signed-razorg-KTU84L-from-KOT49H.cac1a204.zip

Enter the following command if you have downloaded the Verizon users OTA zip file:

adb sideload f0c2187ff1dba772cff3fa7f99f0e6bd38ecb62b.signed-razorg-KTU84L-from-KVT49L.f0c2187f.zip

Step No 9:- You’ll see the transfer progress on the command prompt window.

Step No 10:- Once the process has been successfully finished, choose Reboot System Now using the Power key.

Step No 11:- After rebooting your Nexus 7 LTE, you’ll get the updated KitKat 4.4.3 firmware.
