Before Getting Started:
- By using this guide all the data will be wiped out, so the first thing is to create a backup using custom recovery installed on the Galaxy Alpha.
- Download and install the right USB drivers on the PC for your Galaxy Alpha.
- Enable USB Debugging Mode on your device.
[Goto Settings → About phone → Tap Build Number 7 Times. A message will be displayed saying that “You are now a developer.” Then go back to the Developer options and verify USB Debugging]
- Make sure that the battery level of your Galaxy Alpha should be above 70%

Steps To Root Galaxy Alpha LTE SM-G850F on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with CF-Auto-Root
Step No 1:- First, extract the CF-Auto-Root-slte-sltexx-smg850f.zip on the desktop of your PC to get .tar.md5 file.
Step No 2:- Turn off your Galaxy Alpha in order to enter into Download Mode.
Step No 3:- Press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down keys simultaneously till a triangle construction logo and the Android robot displays on the screen of Galaxy Alpha. Again press the Power key to enter into Download mode.
Step No 4:- Run Odin flashing tool as an Administrator.
Step No 5:- While your phone is in Download mode, just connect it to the PC via its USB data cable. If the USB drivers are properly installed on your PC then the ID: COM boxes will turn blue with the COM port number after the device is connected successfully.
Step No 6:- In Odin tool, click on the AP button and choose the .tar.md5 file.
Step No 7:- Make sure that the Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Time options are checked and Re-Partition option is unchecked in Odin.
Step No 8:- Click on Start button to initiate the installation process. This process will take some time about 4 to 5 minutes.
Step No 9:- The Galaxy Alpha will reboot into Recovery Mode and install the root package. The ID: COM box will then turn green once the installation process is completed.
Step No 10:- When the home screen appears then disconnect the device from the PC.
If your device doesn’t boot into recovery and roots the device then retry the entire process but uncheck the Auto Reboot option in Odin this time.
