Update Galaxy S5 Duos SM-G900FD to Android 5.0 Lollipop Manually

The official Android 5.0 Lollipop update rolls out for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos. Galaxy S5 Duos was released in June 2014 which is powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, 16MP camera, a 2800mAh battery running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Before Getting Started:

  • First thing is to make a backup of all your required data like SMS, MMS, APN Settings, Call Logs, Contacts and Media contents etc before proceeding to the installation guide.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Galaxy S5 Duos. Go to Settings > Developer Options.
  • Download and install Samsung USB Drivers for your Galaxy S5 Duos on the computer.
  • Ensure that your device has at least 80% of battery charge to prevent any unexpected shutdowns while installing this update.

Steps to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop official Stock Firmware on Galaxy S5 Duos G900FD:

Follow the given instructions to start updating the Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos:

Step No 1:- Download and extract firmware .zip file from the above link on your PC.

Step No 2:- Unzip the downloaded Android 5.0 Lollipop .zip file to get a .tar.md5 file on the desktop.

Step No 3:- Also extract the Odin flashing tool and you’ll Odin3 v.3.09.exe.

Step No 4:- Power off the Galaxy S5 to put it into Download Mode.

Step No 5:- Power it On now by pressing and holding Home + Power + Volume Down buttons at the same time.

Step No 6:- Launch Odin tool on the PC as Administrator.

Step No 7:- Now plug your Galaxy S5 to the PC via its USB data cable. If the USB drivers are properly installed on the PC then Odin will detect the device in a while and the ID: COM will turn light blue with COM port number in Odin.

Step No 8:- In Odin, click on AP button, find the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension and select it.

Step No 9:- Make sure that you’ve checked Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options in Odin and the Re-Partition option must be unchecked.

Step No 10:- Finally, click the Start button to begin the installation process in Odin. This process will take some time. Wait for the firmware flashing to finished.

Step No 11:- Your phone will be rebooted automatically once the process is completed.

Step No 12:- Unplug the phone from the PC after the home-screen appears after rebooting.

Done! You have updated Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos to the latest Android 5.0 firmware using ODIN successfully.

    i risked it and did the flash on Russian version on G900FDXXU1ANH2 (united arab emirates version…)
