- Download & Install Samsung USB Drivers on your PC
- Download Odin v3.09
- Download TWRP Recovery on the desktop of your PC.
- Download Root ZIP
- This method only works on Windows-based PCs.
- Your device’s battery must be at least charged upto 70% to 80%
Note: Make sure that this guide is only applicable for the P5200 and P5210 models of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. You can see the device’s model by going to Menu > Settings > About tablet.
Steps To Flash a Custom Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
Step No 1: First of all extract the Odin and TWRP Recovery zip files on the desktop of your PC.
Step No 2: Now launch the Odin flashing tool on PC as an Administrator.
Step No 3: On Odin, click on PDA/AP button, browse and select the extracted TWRP Recovery (.tar) file.
Step No 4: Remember to uncheck the Repartition box on Odin.
Step No 5: Only two boxes should be checked 1.Auto Reboot and 2.F. Reset Time as shown in the image below.
Step No 6: Boot your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 into Download Mode, do to this first power off your device and then turn it on back by pressing and holding the Volume DOWN and Power buttons altogether. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will reboot into Download Mode.
Step No 7: Connect your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 to your PC via USB cable.
Step No 8: If the device’s drivers are properly installed and is recognized by PC then one of the boxes in Odin should turn yellow.
Step No 9: Start to flash the recovery process on your device by clicking on the Start button on Odin.

Steps To Root the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
Step No 1: To start the rooting process, first connect your device to your PC via its USB cable.
Step No 2: Now move the Root ZIP file that you’ve downloaded from the above link to the root of your SD card.
Step No 3: Turn OFF your device after moving the Root ZIP file to your device.
Step No 4: Reboot your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 into Recovery Mode. Turn it ON back and then press and hold the Volume UP and Power buttons at the same time.
Step No 5: While your device is now in the Recovery Mode, tap on Install and choose the Root ZIP file that you’ve already copied to the device to be flashed.

Step No 8: Launch the SuperSU app by navigating to Menu, once your device boots-up.
Step No 9: Tap on the Settings option and uncheck the box that says Enable Superuser.
Step No 10: Now re-check that box again, so it will enable the Superuser on your device.
