Before Getting Started:

  • All data of the phone will be wiped using this guide so it is highly recommended to make a backup first.
  • Your Galaxy Note 3 should be factory unlocked (Not locked to a particular carrier).
  • Download & install Samsung USB Drivers on your PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Galaxy Note 3 to connect it with your PC and use Android SDK with it.

  • Make sure that the battery level of your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is above 75% battery charged.

Steps to Install N9005XXUGNJ2 Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy Note 3 LTE (SM-N9005):

Step No 1:- First of all unzip firmware zip file which you have downloaded from the above link to get a .tar.md5 file. Similarly extract the Odin .zip file on the desktop of your PC.

Step No 2: Switch off the Galaxy Note 3.

Step No 3:- Now boot your Galaxy Note 3 into Download Mode by pressing and holding Home + Power + Volume Down button at the same time.

Note: Ensure that Galaxy Note 3 USB drivers are installed on the computer.

Step No 4:- Run Odin Flashing Tool on your PC as Administrator.

Step No 5:- As it is in Download mode, just connect your Note 3 with your PC via USB data cable. Odin will detect your phone. The ID: COM box will turn light blue in Odin when the phone is successfully connected.

Step No 6:- In Odin, click on AP button and select the firmware file with .tar.md5 (Step No 1)

Step No 7:- Remember to tick the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time option and Re-Partition option should be unchecked in Odin.

Step No 8:- Now click the Start button in Odin to begin the installation process and it will take a few minutes to finish successfully.

Step No 9:- The Galaxy Note 3 will be rebooted automatically once the installation process is completed. Disconnect your device from the PC after displaying a home screen on it.

    I got the update a year ago on my Note 3 9005 in UAE sometime around Jan-Feb.
